The
Minnie Jones Coy Society ($1,000 and above)Named after Tuality's founder, the Minnie Jones Coy Society honors those who have made a special commitment to Tuality Healthcare through gifts of $1,000 or more in any one year.
Minnie Jones Coy was a true pioneer. In an age still dominated by men and with only a fifth- grade education, Minnie accepted the challenge of establishing a much-needed hospital in western Washington County. She had the courage and the will to open a medical facility, to attract medical doctors, and to become involved with virtually every aspect of running her hospital, all without the benefit of any medical, legal, financial or business training. Largely due to Minnie's determination and spirit, what began in a modest two-story home grew to become Tuality Healthcare.
As members of the Minnie Jones Coy Society, we honor you, like Minnie,
for your leadership, compassion and commitment to Tuality. Thank you
for following in Minnie's footsteps and helping us to meet today's challenges
in providing high quality care to the community.
Dr.
A. O. Pitman Club ($500-$999)Dr. A. O. Pitman, known to his friends and colleagues as "Arch" or "Archie", joined the Jones hospital staff in 1930. As one of the town's leading physicians Dr. Pitman worked hand-in-hand with Minnie to care for the community.
After Minnie's death, Dr. Pitman led the physician group through the challenging process of establishing Tuality as a nonprofit community hospital. Dr. Pitman and his colleagues had the wisdom to recognize the importance of Tuality to the community, and they took vital steps to assure its survival as an independent locally-controlled hospital.
As members of the Dr. A. O. Pitman Club, we thank you for your dedication and determination in helping us assure our future as one the few remaining, successful, independent nonprofit hospitals in Oregon.
For 85 years, Tuality Healthcare has honored its founder, Minnie Jones Coy, by providing quality healthcare to the community-regardless of the patient’s ability to pay. We do this with compassion, integrity and with respect for human dignity.
You can play a role in securing Tuality’s ability to continue to serve the community for years to come by including the Tuality Healthcare Foundation in your estate plan. Estate or planned gifts are a great way to make a difference—and can be very cost effective to you, the donor.
Three common types of planned gifts are bequests, gift annuities and charitable remainder trusts.
Bequests are one of the simplest forms of planned giving. There are many ways to include the Tuality Healthcare Foundation in your will. For instance, in addition to a cash bequest, you can give a particular asset—like an automobile or a piece of art. You can also specify a specific amount or a percentage of your estate. If you have, or are planning to include Tuality in your will, please let us know so we can recognize you in our Heritage Society.
Gift Annuities are a great to reap tax benefits while receiving a steady income stream. Based on the value of your gift, your age, current rates of return, etc. you (and another person, if you choose) will receive fixed payments regularly for the duration of your life. A portion of that payment is tax-free. And, in most circumstances, you can benefit from other tax benefits right away.
Charitable Remainder Trust (CRT) Do you want to make a significant gift to the Tuality Healthcare Foundation, reduce or avoid capital gains and estate taxes and gain a steady income stream? Then a Charitable Remainder Trust might be for you. Here’s how it works: You put your assets in a trust now and the trust pays a corresponding dollar amount to you, or the beneficiary of your choice, for a certain period of time. At the end of the specified period, the remaining asset in the trust would be transferred to the Tuality Healthcare Foundation.
This is a general overview of some of the ways you can integrate the Tuality Healthcare Foundation into your estate planning. We invite you or your financial advisor to contact the foundation office at 503-681-1170 for more information about your planned giving options.
A tribute gift is a meaningful way of remembering and celebrating the lives of people you love or to mark special occasions. You can honor birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, new births, special holidays, or any other life passage or achievement. You can even give thanks for recovery.
An acknowledgment of your gift is sent to the person or family you are honoring, notifying them of your contribution without specifying the amount. You receive an acknowledgment of thanks separately.
If you are considering a tribute gift to our organization, please contact
us. By conveying your desires to us and indicating the size and nature
of your gift, we can implement a plan to use it to the best advantage
as well as assure proper recognition.
