“Coffee for a Cure” event scheduled Friday, Oct. 21
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and The Human Bean coffee shops in Hillsboro and Cornelius are once again teaming up with the Tuality Healthcare Foundation to help support local breast health services.
On Friday, Oct. 21, The Human Bean will play host to its annual “Coffee for a Cure” event with all proceeds from sales throughout the day to be donated to the Tuality Healthcare Foundation’s breast health services campaign. The event includes beverages and pastries at its two locations – 998 SE Oak St in Hillsboro and 2355 E. Baseline Rd. in Cornelius.
Since 2007, the partnership between The Human Bean and the Foundation has raised over $8,000, according to Cece Clitheroe, Tuality Healthcare Foundation director. The 2010 event raised $2,500.
“This is the sixth annual ‘Coffee for a Cure’ event and once again I would like to thank The Human Bean for supporting our work in the fight against breast cancer,” said Clitheroe. “I urge all western Washington County residents to help fight breast cancer by patronizing The Human Bean on Oct. 21.”
The “Coffee for a Cure” event coincides with the construction of Tuality’s new Breast Health Center in the Seventh Avenue Medical Plaza building. When completed in early November, the center will feature the latest in digital mammography technology and a warm, welcoming environment for breast health patients.
The Human Bean is based in Medford and boasts 47 locations in seven states. To find out more, go to www.thehumanbean.com.
